Geoffrey, the source material, the diary, is powerful and moving, and certainly excites my curiosity about the milieu in which it was written. I'm sure it'll give impetus to your process of creating characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

And it is so nice to hear from you. I hope you are well.

Geoffrey I am thrilled that you have decided to do a post a month--that makes it easy to stop and read carefully. I do not want to miss a single episode because the story is right up my alley and the description of your process incredibly helpful. Eager for the next one.

So glad that you like my Writer's Journal and super excited that it helps you. We can all learn from each other and part of my reasoning in doing the series was to repay the community -- I have learned so much from other writers. Be well.

This is a fascinating back story. I didn't know your novel has its basis in a journal, and one by a young woman no less. I'm looking forward to finding out more about your writing journey (and I need to go back and read your earlier posts as well). :)

Nice piece Geoff. Put me. back with the characters I remember from growing up on a mule powered farm in the 1940s. I suddenly rea;lose that’s closer to 1890s than today. ! Appreciate the audio in my present state of vision.

Still want to have that lunch.
