I gather feedback from editor-readers of the fourth draft of Hiram Falls; I'm heartened, terrified, but encouraged. This is a sample of my process journal; a look at the right now.
thanks so much for responding. That means a lot to me. I totally get you. But I happen to agree with much of what they're saying. Which is, really, give us more. Which I can do. I also feel I DO need to go deeper into my characters, make them more complex, bring them closer in to me and to the other characters. So it's all good. And they want the same as I want: to write the best fucking novel I can.
Very good. It takes a great deal of strength to sit with the feedback, to allow it to work into you. Then to get to work--the best work!
Thanks so much.
ah, the danger of vulnerability in the writing process.
It's good to be vulnerable. It allows you to feel, to think, to shape. Thanks so much for responding Stephanie. Hope you are well.
It is. And I am!
